Karachi shut down as MQM observes ‘Black Day’

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is observing a black day across the country on Sunday (today) over the remarks of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah remarks about ‘Muhajir’.

MQM in a press conference had announced that 26th October will be observed as Black Day to protest against the statements given by the opposition leader.

MQM Raabta Committee member Abdul Haseeb Khan, addressing the press conference, said that Khursheed Shah had hurt the sentiments of millions of Muhajirs who had migrated to Pakistan from India during the partition.

Commercial centres will remain closed whereas public transport is off the roads in many parts of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad which is causing problems for the citizens.

The entrance examination in Karachi University has been postponed as well.

The party will also take out a protest rally at Shahrah-e-Quaideen on Sunday afternoon.
