MQM sees Karachi LG polls as referendum for separate province

KARACHI: Referring to local government elections scheduled on December 5 in Karachi, The Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) linked the day with referendum for a separate province, ARY News reported.

MQM leader Farooq Sattar, addressing a public gathering, said his party was contesting against alliance of eight parties in Hyderabad and stated that MQM will trump the rivals in the LG polls.

He said his party candidates will be elected unopposed in several constituencies during the LG polls.

Slogans for separate province were also raised during the public meeting.
