In a statement issued here, the MQM body condemned Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon for demolishing marriage lawns and halls owned by MQM representatives and leaders.
MQM said lawns built for last 25 years were also being demolished in the name of anti-encroachment drive.
Karachi has several marriage halls, but the minister is spotting only those which are owned by MQM leaders, MQM body lamented.
The MQM claimed that a lawn owned by Babar Ghori was illegally razed, adding it was legitimately constructed and its income tax was also being paid since its construction.
Rabita Committee demanded that ‘personal vendetta’ in the name of anti-encroachment drive should stop forthwith and compensation should be paid to the victims whose property has been dismantled in the ongoing operation.
