The party in its terse statement said Khan was not stripped of his coordination committee membership and all news about his removal from the body were wrong.

Earlier it was reported that Khan had been removed from his position following ‘complaints’ against him. It was also reported that the party had inducted six new members in its decision-making body Rabita Committee.

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on June 16 had allowed Khan, in response to his petition, to fly to Dubai. He was detained among other members by Rangers on charges of aiding terrorists.

He had then approached the court, seeking bail and travel abroad. Khan’s plea was accepted and the ATC directed him to return to country till July 20.

In August 2015, Khan was inducted into the coordination committee. The decision was taken by MQM chief Altaf Hussain.
