MQM submits application in NA for withdrawal of resignations

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Thursday submitted application in National Assembly for withdrawal of resignations of the party’s MNAs, ARY News reported.

Two members of the lower house from MQM Sajid Ahmed and Shaikh Salahuddin submitted the party’s request with Acting Speaker today.

MQM has decided to attend the National Assembly session beginning tomorrow(Friday ).

Earlier, four senators of MQM including Tahir Mashhadi, Nighat Mirza, Mian Atiq and Khushbakht Shujaat had withdraw their resignations to attend the Senate session.

MQM members of the Parliament and Sindh Assembly had tendered their resignations on August 12 this year, against what it called the extrajudicial killings and disappearances of the party workers at the hands of the law enforcement agencies in Karachi.

Earlier, the federal government had issued a notification on October 16 to form a five-member grievances redressal committee that was given the mandate to register and resolve concerns raised by the MQM related to the Rangers-led security operation in Karachi.
