MQM being victimized in Karachi: Godel

ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Rasheed Godel has said that his party is being politically victimized in Karachi in the name of targeted operations, ARY News reports.

Rasheed Godel, speaking at the floor of the National Assembly on Tuesday, said that terrorists are roaming freely in Karachi. He added that the federal government, when being informed, says that the issue is a provincial one.

The MQM leader asked the federal government to take notice of the terror incidents in the metropolis.

He further said that Sindh is being deprived from the jobs quota. He added that MQM protested against more than a thousand illegal hirings in the Karachi Port Trust (KPT).

Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Kamran Michael said that the hirings were made as if Karachi was “Mini-Pakistan”. He said the inquiry of illegal recruitments is underway.

The parliamentarians also discussed ways to improve the performance of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).

MQM MNA Nabeel Gabol said that PIA has become a burden for the country. He added that the national airliner should be privatized if it does not work properly.
