MQM’s Jamil says Gabol neglected NA-246

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) candidate for NA-246 by-polls Kunwar Naveed Jamil said on Monday that he has a long standing relationship with the people of the constituency, ARY News reported.

Speaking at a corner meeting in Liaquatabad area , Jamil claimed that political rivals Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) cannot understand the problems of people of Karachi.

He said that the people of constituency were neglected by Nabil Gabol and he will have to make up for the former MNA’s behavior with the people of the area.

He claimed that rival political forces PTI and JI are not aware of the grievances of the voters of the area.

Jamil urged people to vote according to their conscience on April 23.

The NA-246 constituency of Karachi will witness a by-poll on April 23 as the seat fell vacant after Nabil Gabol who was elected on the ticket of MQM in the 2013 general elections resigned from his seat after developing differences with the party.

A number of candidates are participating in the election with the most notable candidates being MQM’s Kunwar Naveed Jamil, PTI’s Imran Ismail and JI’s Rashid Nasim.

The by-polls are scheduled to be held on April 23, 2015.
