MQM's solidarity rally for Peshawar Attack victims today

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will organize a rally on Friday (today) at Karachi’s Tibet Centre to express solidarity with the victims of the Peshawar School Attack, ARY News reports on Friday.

At least 144 people including 132 cildren and nine staff members were killed when Taliban gunmen stormed Peshawar’s Army Public School on Tuesday.

Funeral prayers in absentia will be offered and a candle light vigil will be held after the rally.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain will also address the rally today.

According to the route plan issued by MQM, parking arrangements for the participants arriving from Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Shah Faisal, Defence, Mehmoodabad, Ranchore Line, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Maymar have been made at Bagh-e-Jinnah.

Parking arrangements for the participants from Surjani Town, New Karachi, North Karachi, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad have been made at Karachi X-Ray in M.A. Jinnah Road.

MQM Raabta Committee (coordination committee) has also stated that the rally will be a milestone against terrorism.

The coordination has appealed leaders of political parties, lawyers, trade unions, members of the civil society and people from all walks of life to attend the rally.
