TOP NEWS

Niaz Muhammad, convicted of a terror attack on former President General (Retd.) Pervez Musharraf, had earlier appealed against the death sentence in the Supreme Court of Pakistan which was rejected.

He met his family members for the last time and was executed at 06:30 am today. His body has been handed over to his relatives.

He was shifted from Haripur Jail to Peshawar Central Jail under tight security.

Niaz Muhammad was convicted by a court martial in 2006 after he was arrested with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander Adnan Rasheed.

Arshad Meherban, a convict in the attack on the former army chief, was sent to the gallows on December 19th, 2014 in Faisalabad Central Jail.

It should be noted that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had ended the moratorium on death penalty after the attack of Peshawar’s Army Public School on December 16th, 2014.
