Musharraf indicted in Akbar Bugti murder case

QUETTA: An anti-terrorism court of Quetta on Wednesday framed charges against former military ruler Pervez Musharraf in Akbar Bugti murder case, ARY News reported.

Musharraf was not present in the court. The court has also indicted former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao and former home minister of Balochistan Mir Shoaib Ahmed Nowsherwani in the case.

The court will now hear the case on daily basis from February 4th.

Former governor and chief minister of Balochistan Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti was killed in an operation in Kohlu district on August 26, 2006. His murder had sparked violent protests in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.

Nawab Bugti’s son Jamil Akbar Bugti had nominated Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, than home minister Balochistan Mir Shoaib Nowsherwani and other high-ups in the murder case of his father.
