Nation stands by army chief in stand against corruption: Imran

PTI Chairman Imran Khan made the statement during a press conference here in the federal capital on Tuesday.

He added that the situation of country and the condition of the people were much better in Musharraf’s regime. He said, “Growth rate of the country was better and there was no loadshedding back then.”

The PTI Chairman said that it is the responsibility of the federal government to nab the corrupt people in the country. He added, “The whole nation is supporting Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, who made the statement that across the board accountability should take place.

Tehreek-e-Insaf chief added that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should explain how much money the Prime Minister sent outside Pakistan.

“The nation will think of it as corruption if the prime minister does not give an explanation,” he said.

He asked how did Sharif family get the money for buying the apartments in London and how much tax was paid on it.

The PTI Chairman said that the nation wants National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to be independent institutions.

“The state institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are becoming slowly independent,” Khan said.

“The state institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are becoming slowly independent. We are trying to keep the Bank of Khyber free from political pressure,” Khan said.

“The police act in KP will become an example for all the provinces in the country,” he added.

Khan said that the law and order situation will not improve unless Afghanistan is stable.
