NA 122 Case: Sadiq calls rigging allegations baseless

According to ARY News, while recording his statement to the election tribunal in Lahore on Saturday, presided over by Justice Kazim Ali, the National Assembly Speaker denied rigging allegations and said that transparent elections were held in NA-122 constituency of Lahore.

The Speaker reached to the tribunal without protocol. A large number of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers were present outside the election tribunal on the occasion.

Talking to media after recording his statement, Ayaz Sadiq denied the rigging allegations as baseless and said that the voters have given him a heavy mandate. He said he don’t want to use a language that embarrasses him when he meet Imran Khan.

“Fifty 50 years ago my hockey stick by mistake hit Imran Khan, I think he didn’t forget that incident,” Ayaz Sadiq said in a lighter vein.

Imran Khan’s counsel

After the hearing Imran Khan’s counsel told the media that Sardar Ayaz Sadiq’s statement was lacking in many respects. He was unaware about many things.He could not gave answer of many questions during the cross examination, the counsel added.

Ayaz Sadiq had defeated PTI chief Imran Khan in the 2013 general elections from NA-122 constituency of Lahore and the PTI had challenged the results.

National Assembly constituency NA-122 is one of the four constituencies where PTI had sought a recount and verification of voters’ thumb impressions.
