NA-246 by-poll: Strict security cover put in place

KARACHI: Sensing looming threats and political tension ahead of NA-246 by-poll, the government authorities have adopted stringent security measures in the constituency, ARY News reported.

All arrangements have been finalized to hold by-elections in NA-246.

According to officials, as many as 357,000 voters are eligible to use their right to franchise. The electioneering have also come an end last midnight.

A total of 213 polling stations with 769 polling booths have been established for the polling.

The authorities ordered deployment of police personnel in and outside the polling stations. The CCTV cameras will be monitored by Pakistan Rangers Sindh.

Meanwhile, pillion riding have banned in the District Central for three days from Wednesday to ensure law and order and avoid any untoward incident on the occasion.

DG Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar also visited different polling stations in NA-246, Karachi. He reviewed security arrangements in all polling stations.
