PTI to invite Imran for rally in MQM stronghold

KARACHI: Submission of nomination papers for by-elections in NA-246, Karachi is continued, while Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) also seems quite active in this regard, despite the constituency being a traditional stronghold of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), ARY News reported.

According to details, nominations for the by-elections in NA-246 are being filed by the candidates; the seat fell vacant after the resignation of Nabeel Gabol.

MQM’s Kanwar Naveed Jamil, Aslam Shah and Seema Zareen have filed their nomination papers, while Imran Ismail is likely to contest the by-elections in the constituency on PTI’s ticket.

Talking to media, Ismail said that PTI chairman Imran Khan will be invited for a rally at Jinnah Ground as part of the election campaign.

It is yet to be seen whether Tehreek-i-Insaf is going to end its boycott of the assemblies, by contesting the by-elections from NA-246.

It will also be interesting to observe that whether PTI succeeds in conquering the stronghold of the MQM – the party which has nearly 80 percent representation of Karachi.
