NA mourns loss of lives in Peshawar storm, Nepal earthquake

ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Monday unanimously adopted two resolutions expressing deep condolences over loss of lives in cyclonic rain in Peshawar yesterday and earthquake in Nepal, ARY News reported.

The resolutions were move by Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada during the NA session held in Islamabad with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the chair.

In the first resolution, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada while expressing deep condolences over loss of lives in cyclonic rain in Peshawar, demanded federal government to assure provision of all humanitarian aid to the victims of cyclone in Peshawar and assist KPK Government in relief work.

In another resolution, the house assured Nepal that people of Pakistan stand with them in the time of suffering.

The visiting Imam-e-Kaaba Sheikh Khalid al-Ghamdi witnessed proceedings of the National Assembly in Islamabad.

Several parliamentarian members including Minister for Religious Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Arif Alvi, Sattar Bachani and Abdul Baseem held meeting with Imam-e-Kaaba.

Members representing different parties welcomed the Imam and assured that they would stand by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at this hour of trial.
