Opposition raised series of objections when Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif moved the resolution in National Assembly.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) were of the view that instead of passing a resolution, a bill should be presented in the assembly.

In response, Khawaja Muhammad Asif reminded opposition parties that the original resolution was unanimously adopted by the House.

MQM chanted slogans and staged walk out from the upper house.

The Defence Minister strongly criticized MQM by saying opposition is fearful that they will be taken to task for their wrongdoings.

Replying to Khawaja Asif’s remarks MQM MNA Abdul Rashid Godil said “it seems that Khawaja Asif is Defence Minister of Punjab only.”

The session also conduct debate on the Budget for next financial year.
