NA to vote on 21st Constitutional Amendment Bill today

ISLAMABAD: A key session of the National Assembly will be held here in Islamabad on Monday (today) in which the 21st Constitutional Amendment Bill and amendment in Army Act are likely to be passed, ARY News reports.

The 21st Constitutional Amendment bill and Army Act (amendment) bill were tabled by Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed in the NA session on Saturday.

It should be noted that the political leadership of the country had decided to amend the constitution to provide legal cover to the formation of military courts in the country.

A simple majority is required for passing amendment in the Army Act whereas the constitutional amendment bill has to be passed by two-third of the total members of the lower house.

The Army Act and the 21st Constitutional Bill will then be sent to the Senate for acceptance.

The session of the National Assembly will be held at 04:00 pm.
