According to NAB spokesman, he is allegedly responsible for various corruption offences including embezzlement, illegal appointments, and tampering with the results of several matric boards.
He is also believed to have changed the examination results of the daughters of a former federal minister and member of the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and passed them with high marks.
He was previously been the chairman of several committees across Sindh. He was arrested while being present in his office.
