NAB arrests three KDA officials over ‘China-cutting’

KARACHI: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday apprehended three officials of the Karachi Development Authority (KDA) allegedly involved in grabbing lands and China-cutting, ARY News reported.

The officials taken into custody were identified as former directors of the KDA Mumtaz ul Haq, Ikhlaq Ahmed and Muneer Ahmed. The suspects are alleged of land encroachment and China-cutting in the megapolis.

NAB authorities are further interrogating the arrested officials.

The term China-cutting is very popular among real estate developers and agents who often refer to these lands as ‘China plots’ with each other.

China-cutting drew large public attention in recent years after Rangers mentioned this term in its reports on Karachi crime.
