NAB warns bureaucrats against obeying unjust orders

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Friday wrote a letter warning bureaucrats all over country against complying with unjust orders by ministers or else they will also face legal action for committing wrong deeds, ARY News reported.

The letter was written in the light of Supreme Court’s directives which also included text from the verdict of the apex court. It read that the nexus between minister and officials violates merit in the society and promotes injustice.

It also warned of action against ministers and members of the legislative assemblies, who acquire political gains by exploiting bureaucratic maze.

The letter urged officials not to take any pressure from ministers and lawmakers into account and to oppose any wrong measures.

The accountability authority said that action will be taken against both politicians and officials over misuse of authority. It urged the bureaucrats that instead of surrendering to political pressures they should inform the NAB.

The Supreme Court in its verdict had directed NAB to take strict measures for the establishment of a transparent society.
