Former state minister of Ports and Shipping Nabeel Gabol was elected the member of National Assembly from NA-246 constituency of Karachi on Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) ticket.
Gabol had tendered his resignation to NA speaker about a week ago.
Gabol a former People’s Party MNA elected from Lyari had joined the MQM before 2013 general elections after differences with the PPP leadership.
Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has accepted resignation of Nabeel Gabol today and verified with him over the telephone as he was not available in person.
The report about the resignation has been sent to the Election Commission of Pakistan, which will issue a notification and declare the NA 246 constituency as vacant.
