NAB’s performance has improved, claims prosecutor

ISLAMABAD: Prosecutor General of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Waqas Qadeer Dar has said that the performance of the anti-corruption watchdog has improved and the success rate in trials has climbed to 70 percent, ARY News reported on Friday.

He was speaking in a news conference in Islamabad.

The NAB official said that the performance of the institution has improved due to the introduction of joint investigation team.

The prosecutor-general claimed that the success rate in the cases, over the past year, has climbed from 65 percent to 70 percent.

He stated that 416 suspects in different cases were sentenced over the past seven years whereas 277 suspects were acquitted in accountability courts.

Appeals have been filed against the acquitted suspects in concerned high courts, he added.
