NAP’s implementation to take time due to political challenges: DG ISPR
In his interview to a Russian news agency, Major General Asim Salim Bajwa said the National Action Plan is being swiftly executed and we have succeeded in intercepting terrorists’ funding.
“The successful military strikes in Fata and prevention of terrorists’ funding is an evidence of the success of Operation Zarb-e-Azb,” he said.
However, the DG ISPR revealed that the implementation of certain parts of NAP will take time due to persisting political challenges.
The scope of pilot project initiated to get rid of extremism has been extended to national level, he added.
While referring to Moscow visit of the Pakistani delegation as ‘positive’, Gen Bajwa said Pakistan seeks to finalize an agreement with Russia pertaining to the purchase of defense equipment.
