Nargis Fakhri was cast alongside Emraan Hashmi for the biopic of Indian cricketing legend Mohommad Azharuddin. Most actresses who are cast alongside Emraan Hashmi, who has earned quite the reputation for filming intimate scenes, know what they’re in for. However, Nargis Fakhri was not aware there would be so many intimate scenes in the movie and was miffed at times regarding the retakes.

“I was not aware of the fact that these many intimate scenes will be there in the film. I was like I will charge extra as this is ridiculous. There were retakes and reshoots. So, I was like is this a joke,” she said while giving an interview.

The actress said she was a shy person in reality, though that may not come across all the time. Hence, for her, filming the intimate scenes was quite difficult and something she wasn’t comfortable doing.

“It is always awkward for me as I am shy, even though I don’t look like I am shy. I giggle so much or make jokes to get away from the tension. It’s nice when you have a good co-star, who makes you feel comfortable,” she disclosed.

“He is cool and a down-to-earth man. He is professional and makes you feel comfortable,” she spoke about Emraan Hashmi.

Azhar is based on the life of Indian batsman Mohommad Azharuddin, who was involved in a match-fixing scandal. The movie will focus on his life, on and off the field as well. Azharuddin accompanied Emraan Hashmi specifically during the nets practice sessions, in order to perfectly tune him into the character he was playing.
