On March 23, the nation observes Pakistan Day to commemorate the Lahore Resolution, when the Muslim League held its annual session at Minto Park in Lahore, Punjab, that lasted from 22 March till 24 March 1940.
During the event, the Muslim League led by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other founding fathers narrated the events regarding the differences between Hindus and Muslims, and moved the historical resolution that cemented the formation of a nation-state in South Asia as Pakistan.
Citizens are busy holding rallies as an expression of their profound love for their soil, while ceremonies have been organized at educational institutions across the country.
A rehearsal of Azm-e-Pakistan Parade was held at Lahore’s Liberty Chowk at which the musical band played patriotic songs as the participants waved national flags. A large number police were also deployed to guard the rehearsal.
A ceremony with regard to Pakistan Day was also held at the Punjab University.
Rallies were also held in Sialkot, Multan and Sibbi at which the participants lauded the armed forces and prayed for the prosperity of the country.
Preparations for the Pakistan Day Parade have also been finalized in Islamabad for which security has already been put on high alert.
Cellular services in the capital will remain suspended on account of the parade.
