Nation observes Kashmir Solidarity Day today

ISLAMABAD: Kashmir Solidarity Day will be observed across the country, Azad Kashmir and by Pakistani expatriates today [Thursday, February 5] to express unity with people of Kashmir and to remind the international community about its commitments regarding Kashmiris right to self-determination, ARY News reported.

The people of occupied Kashmir will also observe the day with the renewed pledge to continue their freedom movement.

Pakistan and Azad Kashmir observes public holiday on the day. The day will dawn with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

One minutes silence will be observed at 10am to honour Kashmiri martyrs.

Joint session of the AJK Legislative Assembly and AJK Legislative Council will be held in Muzaffarabad to express complete solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will address the joint session.

Seminars and rallies would be held in different cities on the occasion. Human chains would be formed at various bridges connecting Azad Kashmir with Pakistan.

Advisor to Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sartaj Aziz, said meaningful dialogues with India were not possible until resolution of Kashmir dispute.
