National Assembly to meet today

ISLAMABAD: The 20th session of National Assembly will begin in Islamabad today at 4:00 PM to discuss the national issues including Karachi operation, ARY News reported.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq will chair the lower house session at the Parliament house in Islamabad today.

According to sources, the House will discuss energy sector issues, matters pertaining to the  displaced persons of the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA).

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar is expected to take the house into confidence over Rangers recent raid on MQM headquarters Nine Zero in Karachi. The overall situation of law and order in the country would also be discussed during the session.

According to sources, the opposition parties are set to give tough time to the government in the session over recently issued presidential ordinance for FATA Senate elections, improper implementation of the National Action Plan and the raid on Nine-Zero.

The session will continue for two weeks as the opposition parties have also submitted adjournment motions and call-attention notices in the National Assembly Secretariat.
