National Security Advisor Janjua returns from Iran visit

Janjua visited Iran on the invitation of his counterpart Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Mr. Ali Shamkhani. He also met the Iranian Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, International Advisor to Supreme Leader Dr. Ali AKbar Vilayati, and Commander of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran Muhammad Hossein Baqeri.

He also met various high ranking official and discussed issues of mutual interest including bilateral relations, fighting against terrorism, and peace and stability in the region. The talks were held in a spirit of cordiality and friendship, and the two countries mutually agreed to work together for a better future for their people.

The two countries reiterated the brotherly relations between the two neighbourly countries and the shared culture, history and civilisation. They hailed that lifting of sanctions on Iran and that it would open new avenues for trade and economic interaction between the two countries.

They stressed on the importance of security issues particularly border security, and noted on establishing a mechanism including a joint commission to oversee border security, while also agreeing to continue further discussions.

Both sides welcomed and stressed on the need to enhance political, economic and military visits between the two countries to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. They also called for the need for unity among Muslims countries in these challenging times to face the various threats posed by terrorism, and to resolve all differences through peaceful means.
