New Zealand sets target of 276 runs

ABU DHABI: New Zealand batting first in the fifth and final day-night international against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Friday scored 275 runs, ARY News reported.

With the series on line after being 2-2, Skipper of New Zealand Kane Williamson won the toss and opted to bat.

Kane Williamson hit 97 with eight boundaries while Ross Taylor made 95-ball 88 not out with five boundaries and a six.

This match is series-decider as both teams are levelled at 2-2 after Pakistan won the first and third while New Zealand took the second and fourth games.

Pakistan were forced to sit out opener Mohammad Hafeez who had a recurrence of a hamstring injury while struggling paceman Sohail Tanvir was also dropped, making way for Asad Shafiq and Zulfiqar Babar.

New Zealand brought in Anton Devcich and Nathan McCullum for Corey Anderson and Daniel Vettori.

Vettori left to return home to attend his brother’s wedding.
