Nisar announces new policy on ECL

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan in a press conference on Sunday unveiled the new policy regarding the Exit-Control List, ARY News reports.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that only the Interior Ministry has the right to include the names in the ECL. He added that the names of 52,000 people have been excluded from the list.

He added that the names will be included on the recommendation of the intelligence agencies and court orders.

The interior minister also said that the case of Punjab Home Minister Colonel (Retd.) Shuja Khanzada’s assassination is still under investigation.

He added that the Chinese nationals, kidnapped from Pakistan more than a year ago, have been rescued.

Nisar also said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will chair a meeting on national security in September.

He added that it is the duty of the federal government to defend its military.
