Nisar avoids explanation on ‘Panama Papers’ during press conference

Speaking to a media here, said that PM Nawaz was facing cardiac problems and had to travel abroad for treatment.

“The Prime Minister does not tell anyone about his illness,” Nisar said.

The Interior Minister said that the Premier is not feeling well for the past two to three weeks and he made the PM go abroad for medical treatment.

“He will return to Pakistan as soon as he will get the go-ahead from his doctors,” Nisar said.

He added that he saw a new trend that some elements do not hesitate in playing politics on someone’s health.

Nisar said, “People have stooped to the lowest form of politics.”

The minister said, “Whoever has been exposed in the Panama Leaks they will answer for themselves as he cannot speak on their behalf. He added that whoever is behind the Panama Papers is playing their politics through a media trial.”

He said that the PM Nawaz Sharif decided to address the nation and formed a commission to probe the claims while the Iceland’s Premier had no chance but to resign from his position.

“PM Nawaz contacted Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk, Justice Tassaduq Jilani, Justice Amir-ul-Mulk Mengal, Justice Sair Ali and Justice Tanvir Khan to head the commission,” the interior minister said.

He said that these judges refused to head the commission without giving any reason. He added that the government is in talks with other judges as well.

He added that PTI Chairman and Vice-Chairman Imran Khan and Shah Mahmood Qureshi asked him that why the federal government is not taking action on the Panama Papers whereas Aitzaz Ahsan thinks of himself as an intellectual.

He said that Prime Minister in his exile had decided that his sons will do business outside Pakistan.

“Are all laws applicable to the Sharif family only,” Nisar asked.

The interior minister said that the money laundered outside Pakistan for business purpose is illegal. “What is the problem if money was taken from outside the country and business was set up there,” Nisar asked.

The matter cannot be resolved only through scuffles and allegations.

He added that the name of the people, whom Imran Khan surrounds himself with, are also included in the Panama Papers.

The Panama Papers is a mean to target the government through unconstitutional means.

A complete ban has been imposed on staging public rally in Islamabad’s Red Zone area. He added that no one should exceed beyond a specific place designated by the federal government.

“The people of Islamabad should face no problems during the protests being staged anywhere in the federal capital,” he said.
