This should be noted that the duration of PPO is going to expire today night after 12:00am. This ordinance was implemented on directive of Nawaz Sharif after consultation with all the political parties and approval by the parliament. The objective of this bill was to increase powers of law enforcement agencies to establish peace in the country by breaking the nexus of terrorism.

Nisar has been directed to consult the political parties and take measures to remove the reservations if any political party has.

It is pertinent here to mention that PPO was approved with consensus of all members of the senate and national assembly. The ordinance gives security agencies authority to take a suspect into custody for 90 days. However, some parties had later expressed reservation over the ‘misuse’ of PPO, who are expected to resist its extension.
