Citizens suffer as KWSB, K-Electric row persists

KARACHI: K-Electric on Tuesday said it will not hold any talks with Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) until the latter pays outstanding dues worth more than Rs 32 billion, ARY News reported.

The director of K-Electric on Tuesday clearly stated that as long as the Water Board will not pay its dues, no issue will be rectified.

On the other hand, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Shujaat Hussain demanded the K-Electric and KWSB to resolve the issues of the residents of Zia Colony.

The residents of Zia Colony, Pak Colony and Metroville are suffering greatly due to non-supply of water for quite some time.

They have repeatedly staged protests against persisting issue in their areas, while the protesters also blocked a key road of the metropolis today by staging a demonstration at Habib Bank Chowrangi, in S.I.T.E. area of the city.
