Obama calls Sharif, extends condolences over Lahore tragedy

During conversation, Obama requested for conveying heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families on behalf of the people of United States.

He praised remarkable performance by Pakistan in the war against terrorism and hoped that under the leadership of PM Sharif the country will succeed in eradicating the scourge of terrorism from its soil.

“US holds Pakistan efforts to eradicate terrorism in high esteem,” said the US president. “People of the United States stand with the government and people of Pakistan in this hour of grief.”

The US president vowed to provide all possible assistance to Pakistan for the elimination of terrorism.

On the occasion, PM Nawaz Sharif told the US president that the terrorist infrastructure has been dismantled, this is why they are hitting soft targets. He said that the resolve of his government and the nation against terrorism is getting stronger with every passing day.

The premier said that the Pakistani nation will succeed in the war against terrorism and extremism.

President Obama also said that he is looking forward to his meeting PM Sharif and expect it to happen soon.
