PESHAWAR: Investigators have claimed key progress in the probe in the gun attack on a PIA flight in Peshawar that left a woman passenger dead and two crew members injured, ARY News reported.

According to security sources, investigation officers have claimed some important leads in the probe.

According to sources, eight persons were involved in the attack. The attack on the PIA Airbus was made from the roof of a school building in Suliemankhel near Peshawar, when it was landing at the Bacha Khan International Airport on Tuesday night.

The investigators have found 24 shells of a foreign made gun, which was used in the attack.

The forces have enhanced security in the areas adjoining the airport and established checkposts at sensitive points.

The military has also provided its troops to work as the Quick Response Force to the district administration in case of any incident of terrorism.
