Sale of petrol in bottles provoked fuel crisis: Ogra

ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Thursday restricted oil marketing companies from selling petrol in cans and bottles, ARY News reported.

The authority has said ‘sale of petrol in cans and bottles’ caused shortage of fuel in the country.

In a letter written to oil marketing companies and chief secretaries, Ogra has bound oil marketing companies to carry on sale of petrol only for vehicles and warned of strict action against those found violating the order.

According to Ogra, the step is being taken to stop black marketing of petrol and to overcome its shortage.

Ogra has directed oil companies not to sale petrol for the use of generator.
