JARANWALA: Two policemen were killed as they were hit by an oil tanker in the jurisdiction of Satyana Police Station in Jaranwala, ARY News reported on Saturday.
SHO Khalid Gujjar said that police constables Mubarak Ali and Mohammad Rafeeq were patrolling the area on a motorcycle when an oil tanker hit their bike near Chak No. 76-G(B).
The two policemen were killed on the spot. The driver of the truck managed to escape from the scene, eyewitnesses said.
The dead bodies were shifted to a hospital to complete formalities and hand over the remains to the relatives of the deceased.
SP Jaranwala Najeebullah Badrani has said that the police will arrest the fugitive tanker driver soon. He also expressed grief over the incident.
