Police said the blast occurred due explosion of a material used in firecrackers weighing around half a kilogram.
The incident stirred panic in the area thus leading to stampede. Following the blast, the injured and the dead body were moved to Civil Hospital.
One of the injured persons succumbed to his wounds during treatment.
Police was immediately called to the site. Later, Bomb Disposal Squad was also summoned to clear the area.
Police said the case would be registered after completion of preliminary investigation.
