Syed Khursheed Shah, addressing the joint session of the Parliament on Friday, said that it was the politicians who brought revolution in its true sense. He added that it was former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto who brought revolution in the country.

“Politicians are not to be blamed for the ongoing crisis in the country”, he added.

Shah said that it was Bhutto who granted the nation the right of vote.  He added that the former PM made Pakistan a nuclear state and laid the foundation stone of the friendship with China as well.

“Pakistan and the democratic system will continue to prevail and the world itself will come here”, he added.

He added that entire Pakistan remained peaceful except for the Constitutional Avenue. No one can brainwash the nation by raising the voice of revolution and freedom.

“No one can make the Prime Minister resign via sit-ins and protests”, he added.

Khursheed Shah added that the name of Parliament and democracy will remain forever in the country. He also said that the country is suffering from the calamities of the floods whereas the protesters in Islamabad are dancing.

“The people dancing in Islamabad have forgotten the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)”, Shah said.

The opposition leader asked that what message the protesters are sending by making children wear shrouds.

Khursheed Shah said that Local Bodies (LB) Elections should also be held in Sindh so that the benefits of democracy are enjoyed on the grassroot level.
