Military operation against banned terror outfits launched in Punjab

According to sources, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif has ordered military to launch operation across Punjab and bring each and every terrorist.

The COAS chaired a a key meeting at GHQ today to review law and order situation. Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa says five operations had so far been carried out by intelligence agencies in Lahore, Multan and Faisalabad since Sunday night with arrest of number of terrorists and their facilitators.

The security forces have also been told not to succumb to any pressure and go all-out against terrorists.

It has been decided not to spare a single terrorist in the anti-terror drive.

Meanwhile, the Meeting chaired by the Prime Minister today reviewed Lahore terror attack and overall strategy against terrorists. Meeting was briefed by head of law enforcement and intelligence agencies on different leads based progress regarding Lahore terror attack.

The prime minister said that to win the war on terror is an imperative for us. Our resolve as a nation and as a government is getting stronger and coward enemy is trying for soft targets. Our goal is not only to eliminate terror infrastructure but also the extremist mindset which is threat to our way of life.

“I want more proactive coordination between law enforcement and intelligence agencies,” said the PM. He stressed that provinces should speed up intelligence based operations against terrorists. “We must take this war to the doors of terrorist outfits before they are able to hit our innocent countrymen.”
