Opposition Jirga meets PM Sharif

ISLAMABAD: The Jirga of Opposition parties led by Jamat Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq met with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday, ARY News reports.

The Jirga comprises of Senator Rehman Malik, Liaquat Baloch, Kulsoom Perveen, G.G. Jamal and JI emir Sirajul Haq briefed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about the progress in dialogue with Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf.

The Premier lauded the efforts being made by the political jirga.

The opposition parties members yesterday held meetings with the negotiating teams of PAT and PTI to discuss the ways and means to resolve the political turmoil that has taken the country hostage for over three weeks.

The two sides had agreed to meet again to resolve the crisis.
