Opposition marks Black Day in Punjab over Karachi casualties, load shedding

Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid, Awami Tehreek, Peoples Party and others staged a protest demonstration outside the Lahore Press Club.

On the occasion, protesting women carried lanterns and electricity meters reminding the authorities of prolonged outages countrywide.

Another demonstration was staged at Nawanshehr Chowk in Multan by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf against persisting load shedding in the country.

In his address with the participants, PTI lawmaker Shah Mehmood Qureshi slammed government for increasing power tariff, adding that the reality of rulers’ claims has been exposed badly.

The women also brought bangles with them as a gift to the rulers at Multan demonstration and chanted Go Nawaz Go.

In Sahiwal, PTI and PML-Q workers offered funeral prayers in absentia of those who died of worst heatwave in Karachi and staged a protest outside the press club.

Similar demonstrations were held in Kamalia, Rahim Yar Khan and other cities.
