Opposition mulls new strategy after PM’s NA address

ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties, dissatisfied with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s address in the National Assembly, met on Tuesday to set a new strategy over the Panama Papers issue, ARY News reported.

Angry opposition leaders, have prepared a 13 pages questionnaire of 70 questions about the offshore wealth owned by the family of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The combined opposition likely to demand the prime minister to return to the parliament and give reply of the questions of the opposition benches. According to opposition sources, the opposition will continue its protest if the prime minister refused to come to the parliament.

Nawaz Sharif in his speech in the lower house of the parliament on Monday had offered the opposition about a joint parliamentary committee to decide the terms of reference (ToRs) of the proposed judicial commission for probe into the Panama Leaks scandal.

The leader of the opposition Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah, infuriated over the prime minister’s attitude, has said that the PM has increased the seven questions of the opposition to 70 by denying reply to these questions.

Syed Khursheed Shah also meet with the Chairman of Senate Raza Rabbani to brief him about the opposition’s stance over the probe about the Panama Leaks scandal.
