Arabian Sea Cyclone Nilofar has been on its way for landfall at the coastal belt of Pakistan and India on the weekend.

The weather pundits have forecast heavy rainfall in the coastal area including Karachi in the south of Pakistan.

According to television reports the weather has turned cloudy and light rainfall and drizzle has started in coastal areas of Sindh including Karachi, Thatta and Badin districts ahead of the Arabian Sea cyclone.

The government of Sindh has declared red alert in coastal areas and has announced a holiday on Friday. The provincial government has declared emergency in the metropolis and four other districts and made arrangements for the board and lodging of coastal area residents, which are being shifted to safer places in view of the cyclone that is heading towards the coast.

The government has advised people to restrict their movement to avoid mishaps from gusty winds and heavy rains during the coming two days.
