PAF shelling in Tirah Valley kills 23 militants

PESHAWAR: At least 23 militants were killed on Thursday in the wake of shelling by Pakistan Air Force in restive north-western tribal region of Pakistan, ARY News reported.

According to details, PAF jets pounded militant sanctuaries in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency on Thursday. Security sources told that warplanes bombarded hideouts in Jamrud and Toor Darra areas.

As a consequence, 17 militants were killed in Jamrud, while seven eliminated in Toor Darra.

In the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb, security forces have successfully pushed the militants out of most of tribal areas of Pakistan, while the remaining terrorists have been surrounded.

The troops are currently busy battling to gain control of the strategic Tirah Valley, high in the mountains along the Pak-Afghan border.
