Pakistan calls for plebiscite on Kashmir under UN supervision

ISLAMABAD: Spokesman of Pakistan Foreign Office Nafees Zakaria said that Kashmir issue should be resolved according to the wishes of the Kashmiri people and resolutions of United Nations (UN) Security Council.

According to Radio Pakistan, he made the statement in an interview on Sunday night.

Zakaria stated that India was violating basic human rights violation in occupied Kashmir and was involved in carrying out state-sponsored terrorism. He said that India should be held accountable over its atrocities in the region.

The FO spokesman went on to say that the resolutions of the United Nations provide self-determine to the people of Kashmir.

He called for a plebiscite on Kashmir issue under the supervision of the UN.

The Foreign Office representative termed the struggle for the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people as peaceful and indigenous and every Kashmiri is a part of the movement.
