Pakistan defeat Egypt to clinch World Junior Squash Championship

KARACHI: Pakistan defeated top-seeded Egypt to clinch the World Junior Squash Championship held in the city of Bielsko-Biala, Poland.

This is the sixth title for Pakistan and first since 2008. Pakistan beat the defending champion Egypt 2-1 to clinch the title.

Israr Ahmed defeated his Egyptian opponent to give Pakistan a lead in the first match.

Ahsan Ayyaz was defeated in a hard-fought second match.

However, Pakistan’s Abbas Shaukat shocked Marwan Tariq of Egypt in the final match to clinch the championship.

Pakistan lost the finals of the last three championships to Egypt but eventually secured the win.
