Pakistan, Germany agree to boost ties through parliamentary interaction

Mr Fatemi briefed the German parliamentarian on PM Sharif’s vision for a peaceful neighborhood and Pakistan’s desire for regional stability and prosperity, the FO stated.

He stressed that democracy was firmly entrenched in Pakistan and despite challenges; Pakistan had made significant progress in the economic sector.

The SAPM emphasized that Pakistan greatly valued its relations with Germany.

He mentioned that the bilateral trade between the two countries had significant potential to increase and Pakistan would welcome German investment in diverse areas of its economy.

Both sides noted the strong contacts between the parliaments of the two countries and agreed that regular parliamentary interactions would help promote relations between the two sides, read the statement.

Issues of bilateral and regional importance also came under discussion during the meeting.
