Pakistan hammer Cricket Australia XI by 196 runs

BRISBANE: Pakistan thrashed Cricket Australia (CA) XI by 196 runs in their tour game at Brisbane’s Allan Border Field on Tuesday, ARY News reported.

CA XI won the toss and chose to field.

Pakistan scored 334/7 in their 50 overs. Babar Azam fell just two runs short of his century as he made 98 runs from 113 balls with 12 boundaries to his name.

Sharjeel Khan scored 62 runs from 39 deliveries after hitting 11 fours and a six whereas Umar Akmal contributed 54 runs with the blade with the help of six boundaries and two sixes.

Shoaib Malik fell one run short of his half century as he was dismissed on 49 runs after striking four boundaries and a six.

CA XI bowlers Henry Thornton and Cameron Green grabbed three wickets each for their team.

In reply, Cricket Australia could only manage 138 on the scoreboard as they were bowled out in 36.2 overs.

Josh Inglis scored 70 runs off 64 balls with the help of seven boundaries and two sixes while Jason Sangha and Will Pucovski made 20 and 10 runs respectively for the side.

Hasan Ali took three wickets for Pakistan while spinners Imad Wasim and Shoaib Malik grabbed two wickets each as well. Rahat Ali, Mohammad Nawaz and Azhar Ali also dismissed one batsman each as well.
