Pakistan, India in contact to assist stranded nationals: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office (FO) on Monday said that the Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi is in talks with the Indian authorities for assisting the Pakistanis stranded in India.

According to Radio Pakistan, FO spokesperson Nafees Zakaria said that Pakistanis in India, who intend to return to their homes, are facing problems due to the suspension of Samjhauta Express and Dosti Bus Service.

Lahore to Delhi Dosti Bus Service and India bound Samjhauta Express was suspended due to the caste riots in India which have claimed at least 15 lives.

The Indian High Commission has requested Pakistan to assist the stranded Indians in Pakistan due to the suspension of the train and bus service.

The visas of the stranded Pakistanis and Indians are being extending to facilitate them to return to respective countries after the bus and train services will be restored.
